Our skin is our biggest organ. It regulates our temperature, protects us from microbes and elements and it allows us to feel sensations such as touch. So, it's pretty imperative that we take care of our skin! This is why I've stopped using lotions & moisturizers from convenience stores and started making my own lotion. Companies aren't required to tell you ALL of the ingredients in their products and when you see the word "fragrance" under the ingredients in those products, there are 8-12 toxic chemicals hidden behind that word! Basically, a toxic soup if you will.
As you know, I use DoTerra essential oils everyday in most of my routines, especially my beauty products. So I will be sharing with you a simply DIY on making your very own lotion! This way, you know what you're applying to your largest organ!
What you'll need:
Essential Oils I used and why:
Grapefruit- Improve appearance of blemishes
Cedarwood- Promotes healthy, clear skin
Frankincense (The King of Oils)- Reduce the appearance of skin imperfections
Cypress- Approves the appearance of oily skin

What to do:
Mix Shea Butter and Coconut Oil and pour into a double boiler
Melt over medium heat until melted into a liquid while stirring
Once melted, removed from heat and allow to cool for 30 mins
Once cooled, add 5 drops of DoTerra essential oils chosen and stir them in
Place this mixture in the freezer for about 20 mins or until hardened like butter spread
Once hardened, take out of the freezer and whip with a mixer until fluffy
Pour into glass container
Apply to skin when desired!
